Ingredients

  • 750 mL (3 cups) grain flakes, such as 
    • quick oats 
    • barley flakes 
    • wheat flakes 

 

  • 375 mL (1½ cups) fruit, such as 
    • strawberries (chopped fresh or thawed frozen) 
    • Grated apples 
    • Grated pears 
    • Raisins 
    • Diced dried apricots 
    • Frozen berries, thawed 

 

  • 375 mL (1½ cups) nuts or seeds, such as 
    • Sunflower seeds 
    • Flax seeds 
    • Pumpkin seeds 
    • Chopped almonds 
    • Chopped peanuts 

 

  • Cinnamon in a shaker 
  • 625 mL (2½ cups) milk or yogurt to serve 

Directions

  1. Place ingredients in separate serving bowls. Use a tablespoon to serve the grains and a teaspoon to serve the fruit and nuts/‌seeds. 
  2. Line up the serving bowls, with some space between them, ending with the cinnamon. 
  3. Invite students to take a spoonful of each ingredient to mix together in their own bowls. They may sprinkle cinnamon on top of the mix. 
  4. Pour about 30 mL (2 Tbsp) of milk or yogurt over each muesli. 
  5. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!
