  • 500 mL (2 cups) rolled oats, uncooked
  • 500 mL (2 cups) milk
  • 500 mL (2 cups) cottage cheese
  • 60 mL (¼ cup) maple syrup
  • 625 mL (2½ cups) fresh or frozen blueberries

or try using cold cereal instead of prepared oatmeal.

Directions

  1. Prepare the oats using one of these methods:
    • Stovetop: Bring milk to a simmer in a saucepan. Add oats and stir. Lower heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    • Overnight: Combine oats and milk in a large bowl and refrigerate for a few hours or, ideally, overnight.
  2. Place the cottage cheese, prepared oatmeal and blueberries in serving bowls with spoons.
  3. Have each student place a spoonful of cottage cheese in the bottom of a cup.
  4. Add 2 mL (½ tsp) of maple syrup.
  5. Add 2 large spoonfuls of oatmeal.
  6. Add 2 large spoonfuls of blueberries.
